Paperwork Update

Update from Chrissie the guest blogger:

**Edited 4/9/08 3am**

The US Embassy has asked Crystal to call at 4pm on 4/9/09 (10am 4/9/09 EST time) and they will let her know if she will be granted a visa interview this week. Please be in prayer for the embassy staff making this decision. Please pray that God will give Crystal favor in his eyes.

** Original post 4/9/08 1am**

I found a tracking number for Crystal's paperwork. Shh! don't tell anyone and don't ask me how I did it. I am keeping it under my hat :) Now for the good news....The paperwork is on time with a scheduled delivery date of 4/9/08. That's today! WooHoo! Please pray that it really does get there and that the Embassy will schedule Crystal's visa interview for tomorrow 4/10.

Last night I was looking at alternate flight plans online. The same flight schedule Crystal was supposed to leave on last week is now up over $6000. Yikes! That is probably why the dates are limited (only 4/14 and 4/20) for her return. Still praying and asking God to give us a miracle and bring the Mama of the Johnson Angels home "sunga sunga" (very soon in Chichewa).

I had a chance to read Crystal all the comments from yesterdays two posts. She enjoyed them and laughed out loud. She really enjoyed the knock knock jokes from the boys and Gwen's "Garage" comment. Oh and Carlee, she is considering your proposition but needs to run it by Shane. Crystal is so grateful for all of your support and prayers. Crystal is doing her best to stay strong and keep her eyes on the Lord.

She had a pretty restless night after finding out about the limited return flights and having to leave Savannah-Hope's twin siblings for a second time. Crystal said Tamandani looked so sick. Crystal is so grateful for all of you who have prayed for the twins and sent funding for the supplies. It will be winter soon in Malawi, the family was so thankful for the blankets. Crystal cherishes your love and support for her family and extended family both in America and in Malawi.

Stay tuned for notes from day 23.....

Zander came to wake this morning he had lost Zach. Then said I have found him but can't get him back up off the floor. He stuffed between the two big couch cushions and the two tables and partly under the couch. We finally got him back in bed.Zander said whee! and they both went back to sleep. I got to got to work. Shane is on the couch and he looks so sweet.

Crystal,

We used to live in Smyrna and go to FBC! Gwen & I actually lived in the same subdivision and used to meet every morning at 7:00 to walk. So even though I don't know you personally, I feel like I "know" you through Gwen and following your blog. Anyway, Gwen has asked people to share a joke, funny story, etc. with you, so here's my attempt!

You know the verse "I have learned to be content whatever the circumstance" - well, my daughter, Rachel, came home from church one day and was so excited to tell us the verse she learned at church that day. She said very loudly and very proudly, "I have learned to be content WHEREVER THE CIRCUS STANDS!!!!"

Hope that made you smile!!

Praying that you & Savannah Hope will be back in TN soon to reunite with all of your family!!

Praying!!!!!!!

I have to tell you, I am impressed with how your husband has been handling 4 kids while you have been gone. I see him every Tues. & Thurs. taking Bella to school and he is always calm & in control. The kids look like they are doing good as well. There aren't many husbands out there that could handle things like he has. :)

Hi Crystal,
You don't know me, I met Coach O and Gwen in college at TTU, I was aware of their adoptions and caught up on the tail end of Maggie's, but I feel like I am experiencing this journey with you (in a tiny, tiny way) and Savannah-Hope, and it is through your journey that God has placed a heavy burden on my heart for international adoption, I don't know in what capacity yet, but someday I will be able to tell you and you can know it was rooted in your trip to Malawi. So if nothing else (and I am sure there will be so many other reasons) know that your struggles and joys in Malawi have changed me permanently and when God lets me know what I am to do I will let you know:)
God bless, praying for you and all the people from Good Samaritan.

Crystal, I have been reading your blog for awhile now...ever since I discovered it on the Oatsvall Family blog during their adoption of Maggie! I have been praying for you and your family like crazy and I pray that you will receive your VISA appointment on 4/10 so you can rejoin your family soon!! You are such a strong woman of God and your faith in His plans is a true testimony to others. God's plan is always best, even if it doesn't seem that way at the time. Some day, you may look back on your time in Malawi and understand the reason for your extended stay in country...perhaps God is using this experience to witness to others about adoption! Maybe one day, you will be blessed to know how many families pursued their own adoptions because of your story!! Savannah-Hope is beautiful and I adore her name too! Our youngest daughter was adopted from Guatemala in May 2007 and we named her Savannah Grace! I will continue to pray for favor in the eyes of the US Embassy and that they will grant you your long-awaited appointment! I cannot wait to read the good news! Many blessings, Keely

Hi Crystal!

I just found your blog through Gwen's. I know how hard it is to be "stuck" in another country waiting for paper work to be completed. Close to the end of our adoption from Guatemala, I packed my bags and moved to Antigua to wait out the rest of our process with our son. I was only supposed to be there 2 weeks or less, but because of a visa issue, I ended up having to stay for 2 months. At the time, it seemed like the most horrible thing that could happen and all I wanted to do was bring our son home. Looking back, it was a blessing in disguise.

Once you're home, all of this won't look as bleak as it does now. You WILL BE HOME SOON!

And like me, you may even be so crazy busy that you leave your house to grocery shopping just to get to the store and find out you're still in your slippers. (OK...so that's my attempt at being funny).

Hold on honey....this is going to end soon!
