Day 31 April 17th

Today we stayed home and rested. We had a restless night so it was we took advantage of the quiet day and took a three hour nap. It was lovely. There was no electricity or water all day. Brother Gentry took off early and was gone most of the day.

Savannah-Hope's development:
  • She is pulling to a stand on furniture now.
  • She can "cruise" one step to each side while she holds on to the coffee table
  • She plays peek-a-boo by placing her own blanket over her head and then pulling it off and cracking up
  • She can give a high five
  • She salutes when you say hello
  • She waves good-bye and hello
  • She says Mama

Then I called the Embassy at 4pm.....scroll down to see what happened......

TWO WAYS TO LOOK AT EVERYTHING

My wife and I were sitting at a table at my high school reunion, and I kept staring at a drunken woman swigging her drink, as she sat aone at a nearby table.

My wife asked, "Do you know her?"

"Yes," I sighed. "She's my old girlfriend. I understand she started drinking right after we split up those many years ago, and I hear she hasn't been sober since."

"My God!" says my wife. "Who would think a person could go on
celebrating that long?"

Alright ladies, it's that time of year once again!!! I think we need
to be reminded of a few things. So my sisters, PLEASE, raise your big
toes and repeat after me below...

The Open Toed Shoe Pledge!!!!!!

As a member of the Cute Girl sisterhood, I pledge to follow the Rules when wearing sandals and other open-toe shoes::::::::

I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes will not hang over and touch the ground, nor will my heels spill over the backs. And the sides and tops of my feet will not pudge out between the straps.

I will go polish-free or vow to keep the polish fresh, intact and chip-free.

I will not cheat and just touch up my big toe.

I will sand down any mounds of skin before they turn hard and yellow.

I will shave the hairs off my big toe.

I won't wear hose even if my misinformed girlfriend, coworker,
mother, & sisters tells me the toe seam really will stay under my toes if I tuck it there.

If a strap breaks, I won't duct-tape, pin, glue or tuck it back into place hoping it will stay put. I will get my shoe fixed or toss it.

I will not live in corn denial; rather I will lean on my good friend Dr.Scholl's if my feet need him.

I will resist the urge to buy jelly shoes at Payless for the low, low price of $4.99 even if my feet are small enough to fit into the kids'sizes. This is out of concern for my safety, and the safety of others. No one can walk properly when standing in a pool of sweat and I would hate to take someone down with me as I fall and break my ankle.

I will take my toe ring off toward the end of the day if my toes swell
and begin to look like Vienna susages.

I will be brutally honest with my girlfriend/sister/coworker when she
asks me if her feet are too ugly to wear sandals. Someone has to
tell her that her toes are as long as my fingers and no sandal makes
creepy feet look good.

I will promise if I wear flip flops that I will ensure that they
actually flip and flop, making the correct noise while walking and I
will swear NOT to slide or drag my feet while wearing them.

I will promise to go to my local nail salon at least once per season
and have a real pedicure (they are about$15 or $20 and worth EVERY
penny).

I will promise to throw away any white/off-white sandals that show
signs of wear... nothing is tackier than dirty white sandals.

The Holy Alphabet

Although things are not perfect
Because of trial or pain
Continue in thanksgiving
Do not begin to blame
Even when the times are hard
Fierce winds are bound to blow
God is forever able
Hold on to what you know
Imagine life without His love
Joy would cease to be
Keep thanking Him for all the things
Love imparts to thee
M ove out of " Camp Complaining "
No weapon that is known
On earth can yield the power
Praise can do alone
Quit looking at the future
Redeem the time at hand
Start every day with worship
To "thank" is a command
Until we see Him coming
Victorious in the sky
We'll run the race with gratitude
X alting God most high
Y es, there'll be good times and yes some will be bad, but...
Z ion waits in glory...where none are ever sad!

"I AM Too blessed to be stressed!" The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor.
The one who kneels to the Lord can stand up to anything. Love and peace be with you forever, Amen.

SOOOO happy to hear that you are another step closer to coming home!! We can't wait to see you both! I have a super-funny story to tell and I am sure that Eric will not find it that amusing but....the other night Eric was having a dream that we were at the beach (I guess because we had just planned our summer vaca to Gulf Shores and had been talking about it all day). Anyhow, in his dream he was walking into the ocean to pee. Well...in real life however, he was peeing into his t-shirt drawer!!! I could've killed him!! Hope that gives you a good laugh!!!

We love you!! Brandi and her 3 boys

I just hit my "back" key...two times...overwhelmed by just how long you have been away from home. I am thinking by now, you and Savannah Hope have got an ultimate bond...I'm not sure that even with your Mama clubbing Gwen...little Savannah Hope is gonna want anybody but her Mama!!!

Happy, happy news today on your blog that is such a gift!!!!

BIG HUGS TO YOU SUPER MAMA!!!
