Day 32 Friday April 18th

**Please see Edit at the bottom of this post--added 3:50pm PST**

The weather was so beautiful today. We were awake early eager to soak in another day here in Malawi, when we were informed of some very sad news. Clifford's sister, Blessings died during the night. He was really tore up over this, he thinks of her as mom as she helped raise him. He needed 15,000 kwacha ($110) to bury her so I gave it to him and now he is on his way to Zomba. Blessings only 27 years old, left three orphans, two boys and a girl. Clifford will be taking full custody of the two boys ages 12 and 5. He will take on full responsibility of raising them including putting them through school. The little girl will go to his other brother who already has 3 children. Clifford is a 22 years old single guy trying to put himself through school making 6000 kwacha a month ($43). My heart breaks for his loss and I pray that God will allow us to help him in some small way. I am trying to come up with 1200 kwacha ($11) for each boy a school uniform. Please send up prayers for his family today and for this young man who is taking on such a great responsibility. The kids names are Jones, Decision, and little girl is Famous.

I miss you all so much but I guess God has shown another reason why we have been delayed here in Malawi, Clifford needed us to help him today and on a leap of faith I did. I know God will somehow return this money to our hand as it is all the kwacha I had left. I only have $100 left of US cash....and then thats it. Please pray we will get through the embassy in one day and 2 spots will open on the Wednesday flight home. I miss you all so much.

**UPDATE ON IZABELLA'S BURN**
Those of you who are new to the blog can click here to read the story of Izabella's burn. Today Izabella had a four month follow up visit. My mom took her to the appointment and then called me with the good news. Izabella's leg is healing wonderfully and does doesn't need to go back to the burn clinic for 6 months. Her leg needs to remain bandaged 23 hours a day for the next year and the burned areas need to have no less than 45spf sunscreen at all times even under clothing. We continue to Praise the Lord for his miraculous healing of our sweet Bella.

Here are some pictures! An extra bonus for your faithful blog checkers

This is the last picture taken of the Johnsons as a family of 6. I can't wait until my feet land in this airport once again.....and we will forever be together.....Johnson party of 7.

We have been without electricity since Brother Gentry arrived. So how do we play in the dark?....by lantern! In Malawi there is an old superstition that if you allow your babies to look in a mirror, they won't get any teeth. Savannah-Hope loves this mirror....and in case you are wondering she will be one years old in a couple weeks and she has no teeth! Too funny! I keep giving Thandie a bad time about this....but I know her teeth will come in soon.

What do we do when there is no water? Well, when there is water we fill up these large plastic trashcans. Then we scoop the water out for bathing and for filling up the backs of the toilets. You can see by looking in the red bucket behind the one I am filling, that the water is not clear. It is brown. So I have been bathing in brown water. But brown water is better than no water!

Malawian car-seat. The roads are so bumpy that I am just not comfortable with riding with Savannah-Hope on my lap. So I tie her on my back and sit in such a way that she doesn't get squished and doesn't get bounced all over. I love feeling her little heart beating on my back.

Here is Savannah-Hope an I on one of our lazy days....watching a new DVD....Dora! I never thought I would be grateful for a Dora the Explorer DVD....but I sure am!

**EDIT**

If you are interested in sending money to Crystal to help with Clifford's expenses or for another need, please send me an email at chrissieburness@yahoo.com and let me know how much money you are sending. You can send a check made out to me directly to my home address (I will send my address in an email) or you can type my email address in paypal and send the money that way. I will wire the money to Crystal as soon as I know the amount you are sending, but the last day I can do this is Sunday as she will be heading north to Lilongwe on Monday. If you are interested in sponsoring Clifford or his nephews on a regular basis, a tax deductible donation can be made in their name and sent to Victory World Outreach.

Victory World Outreach
C/O Victory Baptist Church

Louisville, Kentucky 40228

Note: Please write "Clifford" on the memo portion of the check.

Side note: Those who sent money previously for the twins, Crystal spent more money than we were planning on....but did so by faith. And then we received exactly to the dollar the amount she spent! Isn't our God amazing! Crystal is extremely low on funds now though, so if you are touched by Clifford's situation and feel lead to help cover the cost for the burial please let me know. Thank you for your many prayers and blessings!

Crystal, your SIL highly recommended the devotional Jesus Calling...today's devotional spoke of God's constant gift He gives us of Peace!!! I have to tell you while I was reading today's post on the other side of the world from you, I was so sad to read of Clifford's Sister passing, yet, she has received the ulitmate gift of Peace. I then remembered the other deaths you have told us of during your stay in Malawi and I just shook my head knowing that TB is curable....but, then I realized something about your post today....you seem so at Peace, Crystal, here you are walking in a distant land...an unknown land, really to you, until 32 days ago. I believe you are receiving such Peace throughout all this, and because of your love and Peace I was able to just read of Clifford's Sister and praise God for His Peace!!!

Raising you and Savannah Hope and God's entire family in Malawi up....you, Crystal, His Daughter..the Daughter of God...you continue to just humble me and amaze me...many, many, many Blessings I pray for you and your family...sorry for the LONG POST, but, you have so moved this Mama!!

Thanks Leigh Ann! I will ask Crystal about the little girl. Clifford is sick about having to put the children in public school (not safe and pooooor education), but he can't afford their private school fees. But with your help at least they wont go to school naked! Thank you so much! I am thinking Crystal will be meeting these boys this weekend and we will try to get their pictures on the blog. Thanks for your prayers and comments.

Chrissie,
Please e-mail me, timnkim@gmail.com
I want to send some funds for Crystal. I may still have your old e-mail, but want to know if that is where I should still send it or if there is a more direct way as she is in need now.
