This morning we woke up to no electricity, but we did have water for a little bit. Which was a nice blessing. We got ready for what I am hoping is our last Sunday church service in Malawi. Not because I haven't enjoyed them thoroughly, but because my heart aches to be back at my church with my family. The service this morning was very nice. Following the service we had an ice cream party for all of the children, staff and the staff kids. I am so grateful to the Lord that he allowed me to purchase the ice cream for this special celebration. It was a good-bye party for my sweet Savannah-Hope. These precious children and staff have been her family for seven months. They love her and she loves them. And she loves ice cream! It was such a sweet blessing to share this time together and say good-bye.

Ice cream party!!!

Savannah-Hope loves her ice cream!
After church we went to town to meet Thandie's brother. He had been carrying for Peace for the past week as she was on a break from school and wanted to spend time with her cousins. I was able to meet Thandie's niece Kezia and Nephew Betchani. Betchani is absolutely adorable. He knows he is adorable too. He told me, "I am handsome, I resemble my father". He really wants to go to America. He tells his parents all the time that he is working hard to go to America. I told him that when he does come to America to give me a call, I would love for him to meet Izabella. They would be so cute together in about 20 years :) Kezia screamed the whole time and seems afraid of everyone but her mama. It was so nice to meet them.
Betchani.........Savannah-Hope.....Kezia
The grocery store was closed and we were out of food and didn't know if the electricity would be one to cook something hot so we stopped at MegaBite and picked up a Hawaiian Pizza, Mexican Pizza and a Chicken Burger and took it back to the Gentry's for Mrs. Miller, Clifford and I. Today was Mrs. Miller's birthday. She turned 29 (again). So we had our hot to go dinner and celebrated Mrs. Miller's B-Day. Tonight after dinner Mrs. Miller is going to teach Clifford how to make candles. This should be fun to watch!

Here is a picture of Savannah-Hope barking at the dogs that Chrissie posted about in yesterday's post.

Happy B-day Mrs. Miller - 29 & holding:)
Crystal - you are in my thoughts and prayers daily. I admire your strength & faith. We are excited for the day you and Savannah Hope arrive in Nashville!
Crystal,
I am still thinking of you and praying that you will and Savannah will be home soon.
Crystal,
My sweet girl I to so hope this is your last Sunday in Malawi. It is not that I am so grateful for all who loved and cared for our sweet Savannah-Hope because I am. I am just so ready to see all my Johnsons together in Church together.
I signed all the children up for the dedication service on May 11th Mothers Day along with Miss Maggie. Ruth needs a good picture of each child and maybe 1 family picture. I signed up for the 10:30am service.
The kids were so wonderful last night and truly had a great time bowling. Everyone in our group is really praying you home and they are all amazed with how great Shane has done everything while you are gone. God truly gave you both a wonderful gift by putting you together. You both are so strong together now God has shown you both how strong you are apart so when you are back together you will be a force to recon with.
I am having hard time writing because my spelling expert is in Malawi. George told me to use spell check but I don’t get close enough to the correct spelling for spell check to know what I am trying to spell. Now that is sad. LOL
I love you a lot and I just am planning on seeing you on Friday morning.
Tell Sheila I said HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Woo Hoo it is almost over. I am so happy you are in the final days there. I know it is going to hard for you to leave the people there that you have grown so fond of. I am praying for you and Savannah to have a good trip home.
Crystal,
I have been trying to keep up with your post as often as I can. I think about you often and I wish I was still in TN so I could give all the kids a hug every Sunday at church. I miss seeing them.
Your whole family is in my prayers and I know you will make it home safely, I just hope it is soon! When you see Amy, Zach, and Zander- give them a hug for me!
Savannah Hope is beautiful and she is lucky to be coming to such a loving and fun home!
I'm hoping it's your last Sunday also. I know you're gonna be torn apart when you do leave, but extremely excited to at last have Savannah home, with her mommy, daddy and siblings, where she belongs.
Today, I went to UTC to get some orthodics "molded" for my feet. I should have them in a couple of weeks. If I didn't have insurance, they would cost $300.
Can't wait to hear that you're back home and safe.
Those photos are just darling. Love the one of Savannah standing at the door. What a big girl. Glad you will be coming home soon.
I am still praying for you Crystal and think about you and Savannah often. Can't wait to meet her soon and for you to meet Ella!
That is so awesome you were able to give them a treat like that! It is God's will you are there!
