T minus 4 days

I leave for Malawi in 4 days! Can I get a WooHoo?!? I can't wait to take my sweet Savannah-Hope into my arms for the first time. At the same time the thought of leaving my other four children and husband on the other side of the world is like being socked in the stomach. It will be so wonderful to have my whole family united in the same country under the same roof.

It is amazing how I have prepared for this trip physically, emotionally, financially and spiritually for the last six months, yet I find myself running around frantic. There are so many last minute details. I have thoughts that pop in my head "I can't forget this", "I have to remember to pack that", "I got to get this and pick up that" and then reminders from friends and family. "Do you have one of these", "don't forget that", "have you thought about taking one of these and how about one of those". It has for sure been a team effort. I surely couldn't have done it alone, especially without all your faithful prayers and encouraging words along the way.

Praise:
  • Shane's time off has been approved by his employer. He will be able to stay home and care for the children the entire time I am gone. What a huge blessing!
Now the bumps and potential bumps along the road that I am asking you to pray about:
  • Izabella has a respiratory infection and a double ear infection

  • Izabella does not want her mommy to go to Africa, although she desperately wants her sister to come home. Maybe the mailman can bring her?

  • Amelia and Zach have a croupy cough

  • The immigration office in Tennessee has not yet sent the approval to the U.S. embassy in Malawi. We found this out yesterday! Oh no! But we are of course grateful to find out now rather than finding out in Malawi. But the mail can take a month to get to Malawi....I don't have a month. I leave in 4 days! I am requesting them to FedEx or DHL the paperwork. Please be in prayer for this paperwork to reach the Malawi Embassy.

  • Travel safety and protection from illness for me and also for my traveling partner Mrs. Miller

  • That the Lord will prepare Savannah-Hope's heart to receive her new forever family.

5 more days till I kiss these cheeks!!!!

Woo Hoo!!!!!! Wow, it's soooooooo close now. Don't worry, the paperwork will get to Malawi - it'd be pretty awesome if it gets there the same day/time you do.

I'm so happy that Shane's able to take off work (paid, hopefully) for the two weeks that you're gone.

I'm sorry about the kids being sick at a time like this. Are Bella's burns all healed?
