Savannah-Hope's birth mother died

Chrissie, Savannah-Hope's birth mother went home to be with the Lord. We are praising the Lord that she accepted Christ and is now in Heaven free from pain and suffering. We are still waiting on the some details, but we know that she either died late Sat night or early this morning. She will be buried tomorrow, Monday November 12th. We are being told that Savannah-Hope will attend the funeral. This will be Savannah-Hope's first trip back to her village since she left 2 months ago. Please be in prayer regarding this issue. As much as we want Savannah-Hope to be a living testimony to her village of God's amazing love, we were previously advised not to take Savannah-Hope to the village before the adoption was finalized. Even though all of the relatives agreed to the adoption, you never know if one might come forward changing their mind. We are putting our complete trust in the Lord and hope that Savannah-Hope's amazing transformation will be an encouragement to her village. Please pray that everything works out according to God's will. Please also pray for safe travel to the village and protection from illness.

This is the last time Savannah-Hope was held by her birth mother. This photo was taken on September 4, 2007. Chrissie chose to give Savannah-Hope a chance to live, and let her go this day. We are so grateful for her courage and selflessness. I was hoping to meet Chrissie when I travel to Malawi to pick up Savannah, but I am comforted in knowing that I will see her in Heaven. Please be in prayer for Savannah-Hope's siblings. Their future has always been uncertain, and now....even more so.

That is so sad...I wouldn't take Savannah to the funeral, too many risks. Disease and illness, needless to say, if someone changed their mind. Just my opinion, take care of yourself. Lots of love,
Leigh Ann

The decision to take Savannah-Hope to the funeral was made by the staff at Good Samaritan. I was able to express Crystal's and my concerns and was reassured by the staff that they would be taking every precaution to ensure Savannah-Hope's safety. It is customary for the children to attend the funeral of their parents.

The staff at Good Samaritan feel strongly there is no chance a family member will come forward for Savannah-Hope. Savannah has three siblings who are now orphans, this will be enough on the plate of the family. They would not be interested in an infant that would require expensive care.
