You can see how swollen her eyes were. She was so tiny, but so puffy. Her birthmother, Chrissie, dressed her up in this pretty dress and even put a diaper on her.
Many people from the village gathered to see Savannah-Hope off on her journey. At first Chrissie was surprised that everyone seemed so excited and happy. Not a tear was shed. And then she realized that they had already come to accept they were going to loose this little peanut. She was very sick and weak. She had gone quite sometime without food and the fluid retention was probably an indication that her kidneys were close to shutting down. This family knew she would be leaving them soon....but hadn't even let themselves dream that she might get a second chance at life. They were so excited about the opportunities Savannah-Hope would have in America with her adoptive family.
