Prayer Works!!!

On September 25,1998 I started a new job with San Diego County in Child Protective Services. This was also the day I met Shane the man I would marry one year later. I have always known Shane was my soul mate when I watched his gentleness with the children I fell more in love him each day. Shane was not a Christian and had no desire to become one, but I knew God had big things in store for this man whose heart is as big as Texas. I married him believing I could bring him to Jesus, but little did I know that is not how it would work. In the first year of our marraige I cried, pleaded and yelled that he must go to church(this obviously did not work) and made for a very unhappy young couple. A few weeks into our marriage we learned we were expecting twins(big surprise). At 14 weeks I went into labor and was flat on my back with the goal to make it to delivery. While months of bed rest might sound like a vacation, it is not. But God used this to shut my mouth and bruise my knees. I began to pray begging God to speak to Shane because I am not a savior and I no longer intended to do HIS job. Over the next 10 years, I continued this prayer daily daily sometimes minutes apart and I saw little changes here and there but I knew God was working. Then on September 24, 2008, Shane made the decision to give his life to God!!! Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!! Words can not describe the overwhelming joy this brought my heart! The rest of this story is his to tell please follow the link to the baptism video. It will bless you!!!
All I can say is this experience has changed our family forever!! Shane is so on fire, doing daily lessons with the kids and reading the Bible with intention! God has always blessed Shane with the heart he has but I am in awe of standing back and watching Shane allow God to use it for His glory.

Congratulations, Shane!! I am so thankful to Crystal for showing you the way to the Lord. I cannot tell you how many times and ways he has blessed my family and I (especially since our mom/wife passed away 11 days prior to your Baptism).

Beautiful testimony.

Crystal...thank you for sharing this here. I was not in the service when Shane was baptized so I had not seen this yet. Wow! I remember talking with you on several occasions and hearing your heart about how you were praying for Shane to be saved. God does hear our prayers and He does answer. Praise Him!

I never got to talk to you guys on the morning of the baptism, but I was crying my eyes out in the service! I had chill bumps when they started his video testimony. You have been such an awesome testimony to me! I think about your faithfulness in praying for Shane. It has helped me to not become discouraged when God has not answered my prayers,You have been a reminder to me that it is not in our timing, but His. Love you guys!
