Well I am trying to get better about keeping you guys informed on the crazy life that is the Johnson family. We are all well and healthy just busy. Dance is over for the summer but karate is year round. We are finishing up with our home school curriculum and enjoying the summer. Saturday we went to the pool at a local state park and then to drive in to see kung fu panda and Indiana Jones it was lots of fun!!!
Now I have a question for you other moms out there!! Savannah-Hope is going to the nursery at the YMCA everyday with her dad or I she does wonderful but they keep "fixing" her hair. Putting it in little puff balls with pony tail holders. We have sought advice on her hair because it is dry from the weather change, and it is not dry now but she has the bald spot in the back we want to grow out and I feel like it is constantly being pulled tight it will stunt the growth. it is clean and cared for picked out and with the bow but they take the bow out and put little ponytails all over. What would you do? I want to ask them not to do it anymore but Shane thinks i am being sensitive because she looks different than our other children. Any advice?
I have a meeting friday about nursing school I am so torn I want to be done but I do not want to go back in January because I will miss my kids, and while we loved their direct teachers we overall we so unhappy with our neighborhood school. Please pray we can get an exemption approved or miraculously find a way to do private school.
Okay please be in prayer for the orphans at good Samaritan they have not had meat since april and are so hungry. If anyone feels led to donate or sponsor one of them please let me know and I will get you all the information these little people are so amazing having so little but overflowing with joy for their savior. I am still trying to raise money for the 100 bibles was sending to the village so here is my challenge to all of you......save your cans (simple enough it is just trash) and when you recycle them send the money to world outreach for the bibles. I am doing the same thing and it is good for the environment and helps others grow closer to God and study His word. Any questions please ask. Please put Crystal's bible project on the memo of the check.
Hope you are all having a wonderful week and enjoying the blessings!!!

Hey! About SH's hair. I would probably say something to them if it really bothers you. She's your daughter! not getting upset or anything, but just tell them that you are trying to let her hair grow naturally right now and prefer not to put it up. I know there's at least one webiste about curly hair (all types) that i got from Angeline's blog. It's a great resource for suggestions on hair care.
found that website. it's www.naturallycurly.com
Oh, thank you SO much for talking about hair! I have NO CLUE what to do with Jeane's in the future! I will be looking this up for SURE!!!
If they kept putting Isabella's hair up all the time, would you ask them to stop? Probablly. I would ask them not to mess w/her hair.
I agree with the other ladies, I would generously compliment them on how adorable it looks and how they obviously care about taking great care of her, then show them her bald spot and explain why you don't want her hair touched and then threaten to have them all fired if she ever comes home with something in her hair again! NO, just kidding about the last part:)
How to donate to Good Samaritan?? Website, address??
I understand why they want to put her hair up..and I think you do too; just tell them nicely that you prefer them not to do that
if it bothers you then i would ask them to leave it alone. maybe they think that you wanted the help with it if you haven't mentioned that you mind them playing with it.
on another note, from what i can tell (from reading and from seeing it with norah's), the more you "fix" the hair, the more it stimulates hair growth. something to do with the massaging of the hair follicles. SH & norah seem to have similar hair - norah's bald spot is filling in finally and the hair on top is really getting long - mostly since i started doing little puffs in it for a few days each week. i don't keep it like that for a long time - because i know how much a ponytail makes me have a headache after i have worn it for a while - but the little bit that i am doing seems to really have helped!
Hey Crystal...I'll tell my Steve to get the cans money to me next time for a donation...
I would take the baby to a beauty shop that does her type of hair...or a home shop :) then they can give you hands on lessons as she and her hair grows :) I know our neighbors go to a lady's home and have it done
I'm little different than the other gals on the hair issue...everyone likes to style girls hair :) when the are with there friends they do each others hair...same with the ladies watching the little ones...You may even see someone do a cute "do" you haven't seen :)
I have a friend who's son just graduated from a catholic school...Her and her husband did volunteer work to allow for him to go since they didn't have full tuition...
