praying peanut home (this is the email with the short story of her)

Dear Friends and Family,

This is a PRAYER REQUEST. Some of you already know
Shane and I are adopting a new baby from Malawi (this
is very sudden, but we are very excited!!!) I am
suppose to fly over in about when they get the paper
work ready to start my stay and the adoption process.
But I got a call this morning from a social worker
friend of mine who is there now that the American
doctor there thinks that if she is left there for me
to come and get she may not live 5 more weeks. So we
need your prayers for her to get a medical visa so she
can come back to America on September 16Th with
Chrissie. She was born in May and now only weights 6
lbs. Her mother is dying and can't take care of her.
She can't breast feed her and has no money for any
type of baby formula which is about $19.00 a can. The
mother & father has signed over for her to be adopted
and we need to get her out of Malawi ASAP. They have
started her on a bottle and she is sucking good and
now she is wetting her diapers. (See story below about
how they got a bottle to feed her with and some
diapers to put on her).

This is my request and prayer. I am asking each person
that gets this email to donate at least $1.00 to my
mom's address and then to forward this email on with a
note to each person on their email list asking them to
do the same. Please ask them to pray for the medial
visa and to mail (you can send this directly to the
link below as well, which is attached to a pay pal
account) the $1.00 or more and to then send the email
on to everyone in there email list or address book
with a note attached asking them to do the same.

I would also ask each of you to pray over the lives of
this baby's family. It was a hard choice for her
parents who also have twins that are 2 years old that
also need to be adopted but the families who are
caring for them are fighting them being adopted. This
family lives in a very very poor village in Malawi
where there is no electricity or clean water. So it is
impossible for this young mother to live and the twin
will not live much longer either. These are some
pictures of the baby we just got by email from the
social worker. To share a special moment with you of
how God truly works. The first of the year a container
was packed here in America (Kentucky) to be shipped by
barge to Malawi. In it was a pickup truck clothes toys
etc for the Good Samaritan Children's Home which is
home to school age children only no babies. They have
no equipment or supplies for anyone under 5-6 yrs old.
So there were no request for any baby things. So they
don't have any diapers ,bottles, clothes, or a bed for
this new baby until another missionary who is on her
way brings some things in a week or so. So they open
the container this morning and the 1st thing that was
there was a pack in play, a bag of newborn diapers, a
3 pack of bottles and 1 (Yes 1 pink dress newborn).
Yes God knew back in January that this baby would be
in the home today . It looked like at the very last
minute before the container was closed and sealed for
the months long trip these things were thrown in. Now
our baby has a bed, bottles, and diapers. And yes a
pink dress to wear home to America to be with her new
family that is waiting for her. This was something
only God knew would be needed at this very time. This
is just so like our LIVING LORD he is still in the
miracle business today.

Thanks for your prayers and any money you can send. If
you can't send any money please pray and forward this
email on. We are going to be doing all kinds of fund
raisers so if you have any ideas please send them our
way. As I stated before this situation is new (which
means we had not anticipated the cost so quickly) to
us but we are so thankful God has placed our beautiful
little peanut in our adoption path!
Living in the light of HIS glory,

Crystal (aka peanut's mom) and Shane (daddy of five)
this is the name she has for now an official
announcement of her name is to follow but she is as
little as a peanut!

This is amazing. I found your story of off the Gordon's blog and will keep your link to check back often.

We too are adopting. Our little boy is in Haiti and is 2 years old.
